Jamie brings 32 years of service in the Mental Health industry to Operation Resiliency!
As a Business Owner and experienced Trauma Therapist in Williamsburg, Virginia, Ms. Mucciarelli’s life has indeed come full circle!
In 1993, She enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Mental Health Technician, but cross-trained after September 11, 2001 to be an integral part of the USAF’s primary mission – Tactical Airlift! This Mental-Health-Tech-turned-C130-Loadmaster proudly served her country for 12 years!
Ms. Mucciarelli has served veterans in various roles from the Vice President of Program Development for a veteran-owned non-profit in Little Rock, Arkansas; a Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) therapist within the VA Healthcare System in both Arkansas and New Jersey, and more recently, an embedded therapist within the Behavior Health component of a worldwide Defense Contractor. It was in this role that she was assigned exclusively to Special Operators and their families.
With 4 combat deployments under her belt as a C-130 Loadmaster, and 1 as a Mental Health Tech, Ms. Mucciarelli attributes her authentic connection and legitimate rapport with her clients to her having “walked the walk” as a combat aviator in Southwest Asia (OIF/OEF) over a twelve- year span in twenty-one countries. She has proudly earned numerous military accolades to include, but not limited to: the Air Medal, the Outstanding Unit with Valor Medal x 4, the Air Expeditionary Service Medal, and the Iraqi Campaign Medal.
She has been the Keynote Speaker for many veterans organizations (VFW, American Legion & Elks) as well as for the NJ State Firefighters’ Mutual Benevolent Association (FMBA) and the NJ State Police Benevolent Association (PBA) for many years at their National Conferences & Annual Trainings. Currently in her work with Special Operators and other military service members, Ms. Mucciarelli finds herself practicing Prolonged Exposure Therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioral & Processing Therapies most often to treat a myriad of conditions such as PTS, Anxiety, Major Depression, and Alcohol Use D/O. She teaches various components of Anger Management and CBT-Insomnia to help the service member integrate more functionally within their micro and mezzo environments, as well as within their role as a spouse/partner and parent.
A Trenton, New Jersey native, Ms. Mucciarelli has lived in Williamsburg for 3 years and loves spending her time with her partner, Jason, and coddling her mini-dachshund, Linda.
